How Do I Teach My Child Black History?

There are many ways to teach children about black history and its importance in their life.

There are books, songs, games & the classic lecture style of teaching.

I know for my kids, they learn best when their learning environment is fun.

It just awakens their brains & gets them to pay attention long enough to become excited about the topic (instead of distracted by anything & everything else).

There aren’t enough black history project ideas for all ages & levels of learning yet, but I’m doing my part to fix this oversight.

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Where can I learn about black history?” these printables are meant to help with that too – I’ve had many adults tell me how much they learned while using these printables.

There’s always more for us to learn as adults, right?

I know I learned a TON doing the research for these printables.

Just by using a variety of black history teaching resources, it’s amazing what we can learn – even as an adult.

Black history education is vital for the growth of our society & these black history teaching ideas offer a step in the right direction.

Any of these printables are a great choice when it comes to black history in school curriculum.

Especially when it comes to black history curriculum for elementary students.

However, as mentioned, any age will glean information and new understanding from these printables.

Teaching our children provides a refresher course for ourselves, which in turn, will only refresh our love for learning & desire to learn more.

In order to properly teach kids about black history, we as parents & teachers must be educated & aware first ourselves.

Even just being honest & learning along with children can be beneficial as well.

We might not have all the answers, and that’s ok.

As long as we’re open to learning, changing, and being an example, our children or those watching us will pick up on that.
