Surveillance video from inside the deli helped police figure out what led up to the shooting.

"The shooting victim -- when he was inside the deli -- he was involved in a verbal altercation with two females, which turned into a physical altercation," Small said. "That's when we know one of the females pulled a handgun and fired at least five shots."

Video released by police show both women walking together into the deli and walking past Jerry. The woman in the hoodie stops next to Jerry, while the other proceeds into the store. You then see both women in the store -- the woman with the hoodie appearing to hold a cellphone at one point.

Philadelphia police released surveillance video Tuesday of a suspect and person of interest in the deadly shooting of a man inside a deli in South Philadelphia's Point Breeze neighborhood the previous night. Both women are considered armed and dangerous.

The women could be seen fleeing on foot from the deli, Small said.

The woman in the hoodie is seen darting away from the store after briefly stopping in the doorway. The other woman then leaves, also pausing at the door before walking away in the other direction.

On Tuesday, police released images and video that show the two women they want to question -- one as a suspect and the other as a person of interest. Each is known to frequent the corner store and should be "considered armed and dangerous," investigators said.

The suspected shooter in in her mid 20s, stands about 5-feet, 2-inches tall and has braids, police said. She wore a hoodie, dark gray crocs and "black pants with distinctive holes on the legs" during the attack. She left the hoodie behind.

The second woman (described as a person of interest) is believed to be in her late 20s and stands about 5-feet, 9-inches tall, police said. She wore "white sandals, black pants with holes in the knees and thighs, denim jacket with holes on the right and left biceps" during the attack. She was last seen running off on nearby Manton Street.

“We’re getting information that one female fled on foot south on 20th street. While the other female fled on foot eastbound on federal. But we know that they were both on foot, didn’t appear that they entered any vehicle in the immediate area," Small said.

Jerry's father drove from Delaware and went to the store where the shooting happened.

“It breaks my heart. It’s tearing me up inside. You know, I just hope that the two young ladies—whoever has something to do with that, they need to turn themselves in. Right away," Shawnbrean Davis, the victim's father, said.

Davis is hoping the video and pictures will help bring his family some closure.

“It don’t make any sense," Davis said. "It’s going to be hurt on both sides. My side and now their family also. The young ladies, their family is going to lose them too.”

Jerry leaves behind a fiancé and five children.

The City is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.

Police asked anyone who recognizes the women not to approach them and to call 911 immediately. You can also contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335. Tips can be submitted at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or online. "Tipsters can remain anonymous," police said.

Despite this homicide, Philadelphia has seen a decrease in deadly shootings this year. Entering Tuesday, at least 95 homicides -- most by shooting -- have been reported, according to Philadelphia police data. That's down 37% from the same date last year and the lowest year-to-date total since 2016.

Correction (May 14, 2024, 6:13 a.m.): This story has been updated to reflect that the Point Breeze neighborhood is part of South Philadelphia.
