What is the difference between UPS and UPS Access Point? ›

To pick up your package at a UPS Access Point®, you need proof of identity, usually a government-issued photo ID, a driver's license, or a passport bearing your full name as in the package.

Our safe and secure location can accept packages for people who aren't able to receive them throughout the day. We offer customers the ability to drop off and pick up packages with ease at our UPS Access Point® location found inside of CVS.

If we missed you at home, your package may have been redirected to a UPS Access Point for safe holding and ready for you to pick it up at your convenience.

Can you hold my packages while I'm away? Yes, if you're a UPS My Choice member, The UPS Store and other UPS Access Point locations can hold your package for up to seven calendar days at no additional charge. UPS Customer Centres can hold your package for up to five business days.

Transit times

Most parcels take just 1 working day to be delivered. Each UPS Access Point™ has a daily collection from UPS (excluding weekends). The collection time for each UPS Access Point™ can be found here.

Provide proof of identity to collect your parcel. Notification sent and your parcel awaits to be collected at a time convenient to you. If necessary to return an item, you may drop a labelled pre-paid UPS Return parcel into any UPS Access Point.

With UPS Mail Innovations Returns, your customers can conveniently return their packages using their mailbox, postal carrier, local post office or any postal drop box nationwide.

If the following applies, your order qualifies for delivery to a UPS Access Points™ pickup location: All items are sold or fulfilled by Amazon.com. The product dimensions must be smaller than 38 x 38 x 38 inches.

If you want to pick up your package at a UPS Customer Center, your request must be received by 7 p.m. If you're unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point^® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days.

What is the difference between a UPS Customer Center and The UPS Store®? A UPS Customer Center is a UPS-owned and staffed shipping location equipped to assist you with any UPS international, air or ground package shipment.

Note: UPS drop-off only locations and USPS drop boxes can't scan a QR code. You'll need to bring it to your nearest UPS Store or USPS Post Office.
