How competitive is Catholic University? ›

The Catholic University of America has an acceptance rate of 86%.

Grades earned on study abroad courses are not included in the grade point average. Exceptions to this rule include the Catholic University in Rome semester, the London Parliamentary Internship, and all faculty-led programs, which are considered resident credit.

A faith-based university will foster spirituality and relationships with God. While most secular colleges maintain high ethical values and codes of conduct, they cannot control all students who want to engage in illegal, unsafe, unsavory and lascivious behaviors.

(Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. With a GPA of 3.51, Catholic University of America requires you to be around average in your high school class. You'll need a mix of A's and B's, and very few C's.

As a result, Marymount University, a Catholic school based in Virginia, has decided to eliminate 10 humanities degrees, including theology. Among the other degrees to be scrapped include English, history, art, and philosophy.

Most programs require at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), but some programs out there that do accept lower GPAs! The best way to find out the requirements for your desired program is to visit your study abroad office or speak to advisors who can help you.

A grade point average of 3.0 is required for retention and graduation. In general, a grade of C is passing but marginal at graduate level. A grade of C in courses designated as "clinical" is not acceptable; students who earn a C in a clinical course may repeat a single clinical course.

For each academic year you have selected, the transcript will now display a student's cumulative GPA as of the end of that school year. For example, a graduating senior's transcript could display a student's grade average from the end of their 12th, 11th, 10th, and 9th grade years.
